Coffee processing

Most of the processed green coffee imported by Cafè Badilatti originates from small cooperatives round the equator in countries like Colombia, Kenya, India and Indonesia.


Ecological and fair production conditions are very important for Daniel Badilatti and he started the idea of supporting small coffee farmers in cooperatives even before the Max Havelaar trust. By advising and helping these coops towards an ecological and high quality crop, he was able to offer the farmers better prices and purchase-guarantees for their coffee.


Daniel Badilatti travels regularly to Java and Sumatra to ensure the coffee he is buying is produced by ecological and sustainable methods as well as offering support, these meetings giving the grower confidence that he will receive a fair price for his product.


Cafè Badilatti also supports the nonprofit organisation « Coffeekids ». This organisation looks after the well-being of the children of coffee farmers by establishing schools, occupational assistance and medical help on location. The Coffeekids organisation supports mostly coffee farmers and their families in Latin America.
